Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

When David Teboul of the extraordinary ambient outfit “Linear Bells” approached me with a view to releasing an album on my netlabel, I found myself with an unexpected dilemma. I told David that whilst I would be delighted to release some of his music, I had a problem in that I could envisage “Linear Bells” as potentially being seen as the Linear Obsessional “house band”. I may have been unduly cautious, but instead I offered David a commission – to do something different from Linear Bells under a different name.

I’m delighted that David rose to the challenge and got past my paranoia to produce something rather special, under the name John Love. “White Sessions” is not an ambient album, it’s a little uncomfortable for that – at times it veers into noise territory, and manages to push together some unfamiliar and unlikely sonic textures into some satisfying new shapes. These laminal constructions are unsettling in their persistence and compelling in their mood, and they suit this label very well. Take your time.

the olatunji duo (txema fernandes and tomás gris) began playing together in 2000. their first recordings were improvisations for alto sax and drum. they have continued to play together when they can. this recording was made in asturias where txema lives with his family. as a duo they are interested in ritual and improvisation which provide the basis for a dialogue between the musicians and their environment.

on their first album for pan y rosas they use various percussion instruments; wind instruments; and the sound of their environment – friends and family, water, wind, bonfire, etc. all these elements combine to form a bridge between ritual and improvisation. objects. night. voice. wind. sparse. rattle. quietly passing through the gateless gate.

Composed and performed entirely in Berna, a software simulation of a late 1950s electroacoustic music studio, “Transmissions from the Hollow Earth 2” takes a more complex approach with more of a focus on loop manipulation. However, like the original TftHE2 evokes dark musique concrete dronescapes utilizing only the simplest of parameters.

Y:E:T is the music project of researches in generative sounds with a sensual approach to compose generated lines in the complete collages. Kyo Yanagi is based in Japan sound artist which is working under the name SANMI brought a sensual form with high tuned layers to the generated lines of sound structures from the Ukraine based project V4W.ENKO. Real time generated textures was mounted into the high tuned structure of multilayered form which is alloved to bring spontanious events into a new level of the synergy of the live forms and some constant rules.

Jori Borla is a multi-instrumental musician and a Pizza lover from Salta (north of Argentina), a huge-state with a small number of people. When he was 16 creates the a punk-rock band “Sinvueltas” and, after many years, an ambient/rock duet called “Estrelicia”. Sounds Child was born during a transfer to Buenos Aires, one of the sleepless nights, the smell of the north came into his mind,nostalgy of childhood and fears too. Sounds Child was created to fill the space of the far-away home, to wake up the child and let him kick us right in the botton of our minds, it’ s a “retrospective” (read it like a old cosmic wise man would read that word).

“A Goose is a Horse” finds Scottish improviser Ivor Kallin using field recordings as a basis for vocal improvisations. These range from an extended raga-like vocal workout to the surprisingly hypnotic strains of a concrete pumper, to a lilting tune on the Cal Mac Ferry, and a bizarre rant on the London Underground by his pseudonymous poetic creation Ambrosia Rasputin.
