Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Welcome to the 20th anniversary compilation of Upitup Records, a label that has been dedicated to promoting experimental music and providing a platform for electronic artists from all over the world for two decades. To celebrate this milestone, Upitup Records is releasing a 20-year compilation featuring entirely new and unreleased tracks, from our long-time friends Drone, JFrank, Satori, The Courier, Global Goon and Büromaschinen to name a few. This compilation is a celebration of the label’s history and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of free music.

From ambient soundscapes to glitchy beats, from noise experiments to avant-garde electro, this collection showcases the diversity and creativity that has made Upitup Records such an important part of the netlabel and free music scene.

Economic Freedom Fighters – Respeita os Cria

Economic Freedom Fighters

Yulio – Cosmic Fractal

Yulio – Cosmic Fractal
[pn221]

Yulio

“Cosmic Fractal”

Yulio (Julio Muñoz) presents his fifth album “Cosmic Fractal”, an album combining electronic, ambient and cosmic elements to create a soundscape that transports you through space and time.

Cosmic fractals are geometric patterns found in nature and repeated at different scales throughout the universe. These patterns can be found in cosmic structures such as galaxies, nebulae and in the large-scale distribution of matter in the universe, generated through complex physical processes such as gravitation, turbulence and radiation.

Cosmic fractals study has helped scientists to better understand the structure and evolution of the universe. In addition, their beauty and complexity has fascinated artists, people interested in science and nature.

All this mystery was studied and clarified by Benoit Mandelbrot (1924-2010), a mathematician known for his pioneering work in fractal theory and fractal geometry. Mandelbrot was one of the first to realize the importance of self-similarity, scale in nature and complex phenomena. His work opened a new field in mathematics and computer science. His ideas have been applied in many areas, including physics, biology, economics, engineering, and music (why not?)..

From the very start, a unique atmosphere can be perceived, due to evolving and constantly changing sound effects. Yulio adds an extra complexity and texture layer to every composition, developing a character and personality of their own, wrapped by an exploratory approach, leading to even more intimate discoveries.

These energetic pieces make your senses vibrate with space-like sounds, while the more relaxing ones motivate self-reflection and contemplation.

Summing up, “Cosmic Fractal” is a fascinating listening experience, taking you on a journey through galaxies and the cosmos – a house trademark . The elements mixture, as well as sonic fractality, create a unique music work – one we recommend to any electronic music fan.

YAMA YUKI – Tufan

YAMA YUKI – Tufan
[IHab154]

YAMA YUKI

“Tufan”

For this work I used solely the sounds of a typhoon that I experienced over the summer. That day, I recorded what happened during the 24 hours from the arrival of the typhoon, then, I composed a track upon these materials.
The strong winds caused abrupt changes in the soundscape, hitting the surface of things outside. Rain washed over the streets, water flew rapidly, and insects seemed to respond to the surrounding noises with their singing.

This track was created as part of my study to understand how intensely humans and surrounding objects/beings are subjected to external natural forces. If you happen to be outside during a natural hazard, there is no way you can avoid being involved in it. Throughout human history, we have continuously tried to protect ourselves from the force of nature, but that is still an impossible task, and we always find ourselves vulnerable to it. In this work, I wanted to explore the theme of vulnerability of human existence within this world. Tufan means “rainstorm” or “flood’ in Turkish and it has its origin in Arabic, but similar words are found in many languages, including the Japanese “Taifu”.»

Recorded and assembled by Yama Yuki.

Yoshiwaku

“Music To Burst In Tears”

The Necrophile Hummingbird netlabel presents Music To Burst In Tears by Yoshiwaku.

“PsychoActive Music For Experimental People”

I was digging in my hard drive then I found this track of incredibly sad music. If there was a contest like in Guy Maddin’s “The saddest music in the world” perhaps I should submit this track. To be clear, when you listen it there is something inside which grab your soul, and it’s nearly impossible to listen the whole without to burst in tears. Maybe if you have too much high expectations it will not work as well as with me, feeling like digging my own grave and it will sound more for you like a busker asking for a silver penny ? But you can believe me that if there is real ASMR music, that’s this really special kind of psycho-active music.

Thus, the artwork is mainly this equation (money+oil=world’s end) I don’t know from where come this sadness, but this could be the origin. Or more generally that despite we know the reason most of the time we are unable to avoid any cataclysm, instead it’s like we try to dive further into. This time in france it seems a lot of people realized this, because nearly all are struggling to get rid of a dictator apprentice, and would change this archaic system into something more accurate to the present time needs. I hope we will able to do this revolution and stick all together till find new ways to live and then to save the world of the climate disaster.

Last but not least, this is the first part of the trilogy “Under the ground, inside the flesh & over the sky” including, in second Häxan Cult and in third Remembering The Comet. And this episode more than the others is very close of CorteX project so if you want find something really nearby try “Undone Ceremony”.

Dedicated to those who know how to mend the broken hopes with gold.

“Minimal Music for Serial Listeners”
This is the third part of the trilogy “Under the ground, inside the flesh & over the sky” including, in second Häxan Cult and in first Music To Burst In Tears. The tracks are really at the frontier between CorteX and Yoshiwaku.
Because I’m really fan of Terry Riley’s Serial Music the first 3 tracks are a blink eye to is “A Rainbow in Curved Air” album, but the music is not that much sounding like serialism, more the usual hypnotic improvised music I do.

Recorded between April and May 2023 at the Cave Haven In Foucherans.

Dedicated to all those who release free their dreams.

Daniel Klauser – Bilocacion EP

Daniel Klauser – Bilocacion EP
[pn220]

Daniel Klauser

“Bilocacion EP”

Bilocation: Specters of Marx

Searches find their place, means find their forms, rhythm finds its balance. “Bilocación”, from musician, producer, DJ, and cultural manager Daniel Klauser, is dance, trance, and manifesto; an EP that opens up new soundscapes within a register that has gone in different directions: techno, house, hip hop, Latin American jazz, or rock are part of this musician’s continuous search, who has made his way by assembling and dismantling aesthetics, discourses, sounds, and scenes to, in this new work, invoke the ghosts of what once was not music, but the underground discourses that once inhabited it.

Featuring musician Tristán Sotomayor (AOI and Nonlocal Society) as a guest, “Ft Tristán” is a track that makes us wonder, at what point did we arrive at this place? Through minimal means and lo-fi sound as a discursive weapon, Klauser moves us imperceptibly from one room to another, from one landscape to another, from one atmosphere to another; from the rawness of the sound to starchy groovy passages of rhythms, almost tribal, that build up or rather melt into a lysergic, warm, soft, and enveloping flow.

“Trumpet Lesson” is imagery taken from the dream of a trumpet traveling through the acid particles spat out by Miles Davis; or it could be a hallucinogenic journey in the midst of Kerouac’s arid road, or a dark and dystopian hallucination of Burroughs, or perhaps it rises as the cosmic and psychedelic intensity of Herbie Hancock in Sextant; what is certain is that here, Klauser’s processed trumpet delivers something retro-futuristic, accompanied by arpeggios and bass lines that take us back to a biological and hallucinatory tribal dance.

Daniel Klauser‘s voice in “Yo te quise” adds an additional note to this work which, like a laboratory of ideas, supports, and means, invites us to immerse ourselves in a sinuous movement, reminding us that what we hear is not a dance but a ceremony, and that there, in that middle zone, between “I love you” and “I loved you”, there is also a boundary – an abyssal zone – between the real and the unreal or between the surface and the deep.

“De tu mirada” is the closing of this manifesto of ghosts, retromanias, references, aesthetics, and discourses, where the sound space becomes a container of multiple intensities that seem to slide between poles, extremes, and middle zones that immerse us and make us emerge among soft whispers that moisten the listening, making it acidic and fractal.

“Bilocación” is the supernatural appearance of sounds that, gathered in this ceremony, celebrate the arrival of the specters that transit and break with the censorship, prohibition, and stigma that the industry has created around underground, marginal, pristine, and consequent music.
